Adam Aviles


Prior to joining the History Department, Adam Aviles spent several years working in the public and private sectors, with a focus on economic and social issues in Afghanistan. At GW, his research interests are in the city of Herat, located in Western Afghanistan, and its environs during the 19th Century. He holds an A.B. in Government from Harvard College and an M.A. in Strategic Studies and International Economics from The Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies.
