Backlash against Black Progress: Legislating Jim Crow Neighborhoods in the Early Twentieth Century

Dr. Elizabeth Herbin-Triant (University of Massachusetts Lowell) will be giving a lecture based on her new book, Threatening Property: Race, Class, and Campaigns to Legislate Jim Crow Neighborhoods, which examines efforts to put residential segregation into law in the early twentieth century and explains how these laws came to define the limits of Jim Crow.
