David Damiano

David Damiano is a Ph.D student studying the American socialist movement. His research considers the intersection between international socialism and native strands of American radicalism, republicanism, and progressivism. He received a BA in history and international relations from Boston University and a MA in history from Brandeis University where he produced a thesis titled “The Master-Weapon of All, the Law!” concerning socialist attitudes on American legal and democratic institutions. His first academic article, published in the Historical Journal of Massachusetts, investigates the pioneering role that Massachusetts socialists played in the Socialist Party’s political and intellectual development during the first two decades of the twentieth century.
