Jeremy Salkeld is a Ph.D. candidate studying early modern and modern Chinese history with a focus on the nineteenth century Qing Empire and the emergence of Chinese nationalism. He received a BA in Ancient and Modern History in 2021 and an MSt in Global and Imperial History in 2023 from the University of Oxford, with thesis work focusing on the propaganda of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
