Michael Guy is a Ph.D. student studying race in Early America and the British Atlantic. His dissertation research is focused on how museums and historical sites influence historical memory by examining the Hampton National Historical Site, a plantation built at the end of the 18th century. Michael received his master’s in Museum Studies and Historical Preservation from Morgan State University where he wrote his master’s thesis on paternalism and artifact repatriation. Michael received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Baltimore.
