Benjamin R, Young
Benjamin R. Young is a fourth year PhD candidate in Asian history at George Washington University where he is writing his dissertation, tentatively titled, “International Revolution and Third World Solidarity: North Korea’s relations with the Global South, 1962-1994.” He recently spent a year in Seoul, South Korea as a Fulbright junior researcher. His scholarly work has been published in Asia-Pacific Journal: Japan Focus, Journal of Northeast Asian History, and British Association of Korean Studies (BAKS) Papers. He has published journalistic work in The Washington Post, The Guardian, Reuters, and NKnews.org. He has also been interviewed for TV by BBC World News and Jorge Ramos' America and quoted in The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, The Wall Street Journal, The Diplomat, and Bloomberg Business. Ben enjoys traveling and has been to North Korea, Russia, China, South Korea, and Japan.
