Kathryn Densford

Kathryn E. Densford, whose research focuses on Habsburg Central Europe, received her M.A. in History from Northern Illinois University in 2012 and her B.A. in history and theology from Concordia University-Chicago in 2010. She is the recipient of Title VIII and FLAS Fellowships for Czech language study.  For her research, she has received a Cosmos Scholars Grant and a Central European History Society Travel Grant.  Additionally, she received a 2016-2017 Fulbright-Mach Award to Austria for her dissertation, “Beyond Vienna: The Collapse of Provincial Austrian in the First World War.” Her article “The Wehrmann in Eisen: Nailed Statues as Barometers of Habsburg Social Order during the First World War” will appear this year in European Review of History.
